Arnold appears at Plattsmouth High School assembly

PLATTSMOUTH - Veteran actor Tom Arnold helped Plattsmouth High School students celebrate their track team's state championship during a special assembly Wednesday afternoon.

Arnold appeared on stage with fellow "April Showers" actors Illeana Douglas, Daryl Sabara and Ellen Woglom during the first part of the 45-minute assembly. Audience members honored the Blue Devil boys track team for winning the school's first team track title since 1976.

In addition to hearing Arnold speak, students were also able to participate in a scene in the movie after the assembly. Producers filmed students walking through the hallways during the scene, which took about 30 minutes to complete. Hundreds of students volunteered to take part.

Filming on "April Showers" will continue in Plattsmouth throughout the next two weeks. Pictures from the assembly are now posted under the education folder in the photo gallery link.
