Hoschar's song to be featured on Christian county music CD

Carlena Hoschar has a song continually in her heart, and soon she will have one she’s co-written on a CD released by Christian music singer Kris Ballerini.

"Like Eden" will serve as the title track for Ballerini’s new release, and Hoschar is somewhat amazed that one of her songs gained such attention in the fast-paced, sometimes ruthless Nashville, Tenn.

You see. Carlena has no formal musical training but hears lyrics and music to songs never before written.

"I don’t play anything," she said. "I hear what it sounds like. I didn’t know that that was rare."

Daughter of Helen and John Hoschar of Plattsmouth, Carlena attended Stull School as a child. She moved out of her parents’ home when she was 17 and earned her GED later.

A natural artist, singer and music writer, Carlena is quick to say her work is divinely inspired.

"I feel like I get to hold the pen. It’s just a gift that He gives me," she said. "I’m just the one he trusted it to."

A friend once dubbed Carlena a "walking advertisement for God," and when she reveals her songwriting experiences, it’s easy to know why the label fits so well.
