Los Angeles - Principal photography on "April Showers" wrapped up last month.
The film by Andrew Robinson, is a look back at the Columbine tragedy through his eyes. He attended Columbine and witnessed the shooting that left 15 dead April 20, 1999. The film stars Tom Arnold (True Lies, Nine Months), Illeana Douglas (Cape Fear, Quiz Show), Kelly Blatz (Prom Night), Daryl Sabara (Spy Kids), Janel Parrish (guest starring on television's Heroes) and Ellen Woglom (guest starring on Criminal Minds)
Plattsmouth High School was used to shoot most of the high school scenes. Parts of the film were also shot in Omaha. Robinson did much of the photography for his 2005 movie, "Shimmer" in Plattsmouth. He liked the area so much that he returned to the area to film parts of "April Showers."
In a posting on the film's Website, Robinson specifically thanked residents of Plattsmouth and Omaha.
"Lastly, to the people of Omaha and Plattsmouth, Nebraska, once again you have allowed me to come into your city, your homes and your lives and have done so willingly and with tremendous support. What you have brought to this production can not be summed up in words. I only hope the experience was as rewarding for you as it was for myself and everyone associated with production. Thank you."
April Showers is currently being edited by Robinson. A rough cut of the film was scheduled for earlier this month but was postponed because Robinson was making changes to the end of the film. A rough cut is a film with no music, audio effects or any photographic effects. Robinson is expecting to have the film ready and is planning a screening by invitation only later this week.
