Infant safe in two-car accident

PLATTSMOUTH - Cass County deputies and Plattsmouth Fire and Rescue were called to an accident July 20 at about 12:20 p.m.

Cass County Sheriff William Brueggemann reported a car driven by Clarita Phillips, 58, from Plattsmouth was driving north on Highway 75 and slowed for traffic turning into the Country Bar and Grill. Her car was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Samantha Pitnick, 22, from Plattsmouth.

Pitnick and Phillips were checked for injuries by Plattsmouth Rescue but were not transported from the scene. Pitrick's son, Dominic Pitnick, 10 months, was in an infant seat and was not injured. Pitnick and Phillips were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
