FRED BEINS

Fred Edward Beins, 79, of Plattsmouth died Friday, June 27, 2008, at NHS Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.

He was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Rock Bluff to Lee Roy and Anna Pearl (Wilson) Beins.

On Aug. 6, 9149, he married Mary Jane Harris in Glenwood, Iowa.

Fred was raised in Rock Bluff and Murray. He attended grade school in Murray and high school in Plattsmouth, then worked at Omaha Steel Co. as a welder. He met Mary Jane Harris in Plattsmouth. In August of 1949 they were married in Glenwood. In 1955 he and Mary Jane moved to a farm west of Murray where he farmed and they raised their boys until 1975 when they moved to their present location south of Plattsmouth.

During the Korean Conflict, Fred served with the U.S. Marines. He was a member of Hugh J. Kerns American Legion Post 56 of Plattsmouth and was a Golden Eagle of Eagles Aerie 365 of Plattsmouth.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Beins, Plattsmouth; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Terry Beins, Plattsmouth; Steven andJoan Beins, Lebanon, Tenn.; grandsons, James Beins, Chase Molloy; granddaughter, Brooke and husband Corey Hobscheidt; great-grandson, Carson Henry Hobscheidt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Mona Beins, Plattsmouth; Robert and Mary Ann Beins, Springfield; Donald and Benne Rae Beins, Omaha; sister and brother-in-law, Dee and Jon Schuetz, Plattsmouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service was Monday, June 30, at Roby Funeral Home Chapel, Plattsmouth, with the Rev. Michael McGregor officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Leonard Davey, Frank Eyster, Lenis Grauf, Terry McBride, Bill Starkjohn, Don Steube, Alan Wiles and Stan Wolski
