FLOY ARNOLD

Floy Bernice Arnold, 93, of Plattsmouth died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at NHS University Hospital in Omaha.

She was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Floris, Okla., to Wade Hampton and Minnie Belle (Ausmus) Odneal.

On June 6, 1931, she married Fred Cecil Arnold in Liberal, Kan.

Floy was born in Floris and raised and schooled in Liberal. She graduated from Liberal High School then married Fred and moved to Plattsmouth in 1946. She was a homemaker and mother. After her children were raised, she worked at Cass Drug for 11 years, then as a clerk to County Superintendent of Schools (Neil Lancaster) for 20 years. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Home Chapter 189 of Plattsmouth and Mynard Liberty United Methodist Church of Mynard.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Janis Newton, Memphis, Tenn.; Glenda and Billy Maxwell, Canyon Lake, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Alana Arnold, Rosamond, Calif.; son-in-law, Don Morris, Columbus; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Flossa Barney, Villa Rica, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Louise Odneal, Everett, Wash.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Minnie Odneal; devoted stepmother, Gertrude F. (Gray) Odneal; husband, Fred Arnold; daughter, Phyllis Morris; brothers, Harley and Verl Odneal; stepbrother, Harry Barton-Odneal; grandsons, Martin Morris, Jim Arnold; and granddaughter, Lauren Newton.

Funeral service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Roby Funeral Home Chapel, Plattsmouth, with Pastor Belinda Davidson officiating. Organist, Edith McCaw; vocal music, John Wetenkamp.

Pallbearers: Steve Cole, Jim Fulton, Lonnie Muller, Max Muller, Jeff Wiles and Wayne Morris.

Burial: Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Plattsmouth

Memorials may be directed to Plattsmouth Rescue Squad or Cass County Museum.

Visiting hours: 1-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Roby Funeral Home Chapel, with family present 6-8 p.m.
