Milford Gail Meisinger, 88, of Ashland died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Ashland Care Center.
He was born June 20, 1920, in Cedar Creek to John R. and Sarah Ainley (Bailey) Meisinger.
On Oct. 16, 1943, he married Sylvia Miller.
Milford retired from Ash Grove Cement Company in Louisville after 25 years. He loved mules and horses and participated in all kinds of horse drawn activities, including parades such as River City Roundup. Milford logged hundreds of miles with his Standardbred mare, “Honey,” hauling numerous brides and grooms in his buggy. Milford appreciated a good pair of mules and hauled anything from school kids to Boy Scouts. Milford enjoyed all kinds of dancing and rarely missed an opportunity to do so. He also loved coon hunting and blue tick coon dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Ashland, Daughter: Betty Meyer and husband Terry, of Manley, Sons - John of Louisville, Dave Meisinger and wife Holly, of Ashland, Grandchildren - Michele Fortney of Murdock, Mark Meyer and wife Michelle of Murdock, Brenda Meyer of Omaha, Nathan Meisinger of Springfield, Sara Meisinger of Fremont, Deric Meisinger and wife Kim of Bellevue, Dana Lambert and husband Matt, of Greenwood, and Darci Meisinger of Murdock, 12 Great-Grandchildren, Sister - Hattie Barnes of Louisville, Sister-in-law - Bessie Meisinger of Springfield, NE and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glen, Floyd, Clayton; and sisters, Viola Dwyer, Mabel Urwin, Dorothy Heard.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Fusselman Wymore Funeral Chapel, Louisville, with the Rev. Brent Kuhlman officiating. Organist, Donna Neumann; vocalist, Vicki Miner.
Pallbearers: Mark Meyer, Nathan Meisinger, Deric Meisinger, Terry Grell, Alan Vogler and Don Hanson. Honorary pallbearers: Lawrence Vogel, Cyril Vervaecke, Vince Schrader, Larry Hanson and Duane Gansemer.
