Katherine Bertha Meisinger, 91, of Cherokee, Iowa, died Thursday, July 10, at Cherokee Villa in Cherokee.
She was born Oct. 25, 1916, in Plattsmouth to Louis Alfred and Katie Anna (Hild) Meisinger.
Katherine was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth. She worked at the Nebraska Masonic Home and Lugsch Cleaners. During World War ** she worked on the Enola Gay B52 bomber at the Martin Bomber Plant. Then she worked for TipTop, now Faberge, of Omaha. She retired as a shipping clerk in1981. Katherine lived most of her life in Plattsmouth. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Home Chapter 189 of Plattsmouth, Fairview Extension Club, Church Circle and Chicken Pie Supper. Her church membership was First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth.
Survivors include her nieces Janelle and husband Warren Halliwell, Moncks Corner, S.C.; Betty and John Berigan, Cherokee, Iowa; great-nieces, Christina Halliwell, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Magi Halliwell, Los Angeles, Calif.; long-time friend, Josephine Hostetter, Omaha; neighbors, Tom and Eva Crosbie, Plattsmouth; godson, Dale and wife Donna Meisinger, Omaha; and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Oliver Meisinger and Clyde Meisinger.
Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at First Presbyterian Church, Plattsmouth, with Pastor Ronald VanHeukelom officiating and organist, Marsha Fleming.
Pallbearers: Brian Sparks, Larry Henry, Dalen Meisinger, Devin Meisinger, Fred Ulrich and Ted Wehrbein.
Visitation: 1-9 p.m. Monday, July 14, at Roby Funeral Home Chapel, with family present from 6-8 p.m.
Eastern Star service is 7 p.m. Monday, July 14, at Roby Funeral Home Chapel.
Final resting place: Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth.
