RONALD GANSEMER

Ronald James Gansemer, 67, of Weeping Water died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, while in the company of family members at his residence.

Ronald was born in Nehawka on June 21, 1941, the son of the late Clell and Dorothy (Sedlak) Gansemer. He graduated from Weeping Water High School with the Class of 1958. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was employed at Ash Grove for 46 years; he also worked at Nickels Trailer Sales part-time for more than 25 years. Ronald was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Boilermakers Union Local D 174, American Legion Post 237 and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Ronald is survived by his wife Kathy M. (Campbell) Gansemer; they were married on April 20, 1963, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Also survived by a daughter, Lisa, wife of Mike Barrett, of Weeping Water; a son, Brian, husband of Mary Gansemer, of Lincoln; four grandchildren: Katherine and Claire Gansemer and Kendall and Peyton Barrett; two sisters, Joann Petereit of Cedar Creek; Phylis Hespin of Glenwood, Iowa; a brother, Duane, husband of Ruth Gansemer, of Murdock; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sharon Kreji; and one brother, Alfred Gansemer.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Manley, on Saturday, July 19, with Fr. Patrick Murphy and Fr. Joseph Mroczkowski as celebrants. Nancy Brack was the organist and April Yang was the soloist.

Pallbearers were Mike Bose, Bubba Cosson, Greg Gansemer, Jerry McKinstry, Lee Wipf and Joel Petereit.

Interment was conducted at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Manley. Nebraska National Guard and American Legion Post 237 provided military honors.
